Professional updating is essential, even for those who take care of our pets’ health: New diseases may arise, or new remedies may be brought to market to treat or monitor them. Hill’s Pet Nutrition is a petfood company specialized in nutrients that cure specific diseases, and we, as Olojin, helped them identify an innovative path to sustaining vet training.
The briefing
SCIVAC is a major expo for the veterinary profession, and for the 2016 edition, Hill’s Pet Nutrition asked us to create a mobile app for professionals, centered on the launch of a new product for environmental allergies in dogs. The app had to interact with Hill’s Pet’ stand and enhance vet’s visiting experience by providing them with exclusive material on its latest product.
The approach
In just a few weeks, our marketing, graphics and development teams worked alongside to provide the company with a variety of options that would have been ready on time for the fair. The choice fell on an app equipped with technology iBeacon. The smartphone interacted via Bluetooth with small sensors installed in Hill’s Pets’ stand, activating and making available multimedia content such as pdf, images, links or videos on the user's smartphone.
The extra idea
How can the expo experience be not only useful but also fun? By creating a journey in stages based on the distance we programmed all the various devices to. The first one, with a wider range of coverage, welcomed the professionals, others appliances that were closer, sent questions about environmental allergies of animals. Each correct answer unlocked contents about the new product. Our system reckoned whether the user answered to all questions and would send a message, inviting him/her to pick up a gadget by the stand.
Our development department was in charge of programming the app; setting the iBeacom sensors, so that they could correctly send the chosen content to smartphones at the established distances (from 1 meter up to 50 meters), and of the on-site set-up of the device itself. Moreover, our team undertook preliminary tests on their functioning and provided technical assistance in case of problems doing so even remotely. This is because in Olojin we imagine the most creative projects, but we actually help you carry them out.
